May Unicorn Crate Unboxing

111f

As you may know by now, I am a rep for the magical subscription box Unicorn Crate. If any of what you see in this post catches your eye, feel free to use my code READEN10 to get 10% off your first crate of the monthly subscription. Right now, the June box is sold out but the July crate is currently on sale. The theme for that month is “Magic Systems”.

For those of you who don’t know, Unicorn Crate (like Fairyloot) is a monthly bookish subscription service that delivers bookish goodies right to your doorstep. They are based out of the United States and feature at least one unicorn themed item a month. Each month Unicorn Crate features a new theme. The theme for May was, “Tournaments and Trials”.

So without any further ado, let’s get into this month’s Unicorn Crate unboxing, shall we?

The Goodies:

130d
The above necklace is definitely my favorite item in this month’s crate. I have been seeing these fake potions around and have been dying to receive one of my own. Not only is it adorable but the quality and attention to detail is amazing. The only problem I have with this item is the fact that it came on a leather cord which I am not really a fan of. I will probably end up switching it out for a gold chain.

130i
If you have been following my bookstagram or blog for a while, than you are well aware of my slight candle obsession. So it should be no surprise that my next favorite item is the above candle inspired by A Crown of Wishes. I am actually burning this bad boy as I am typing this and the scent smells amazing. The notes are sandalwood, orange blossom and masala chai.

130c
If there is one item I absolutely love receiving in subscription boxes, a magnetic bookmark is definitely it. The above item was inspired by A Court of Wings and Ruin and features one of my favorite quotes. The quality on this product is incredible. The paper is nice and thick with a subtle gloss to it.

130g
If it wasn’t for the fact that I rarely use tote bags than I would be all over this item. The artwork is gorgeous and the colors are just as beautiful. I am considering making this into a pillow just so I can get some use out of it.

130b
I will admit, I used to hate getting pins and patches in subscription boxes. I just never knew what to do with them. Ever since I purchased a denim jacket though, my opinion on the two changed forever. This patch is even more beautiful in person. The colors are bright and just seem to pop. I will definitely be adding this to my jacket.

130e
The above notepad is everything I didn’t know I needed and more. The words on the top say, “May the list be ever in your favor”. Which in my opinion is awesome. I am personally an avid list maker. I make lists for anything and everything so you can bet that I will be getting some use out of this notepad.

These vinyl stickers are probably the only miss for me in this months box. They are inspired by Red Rising–a series I have not read. So it’s not a complete shocker that these aren’t my favorite. The simplistic style just isn’t my thing either, but hey, you cant win them all!

As for the book:

Furyborn, by: Claire Legrand

Furyborn is the first book in a the Empirium Trilogy. It follows two queens both centuries apart, and both have the power to save their world or doom it. One is a Sun Queen and one is Blood Queen. I can already imagine this book is going to be a fast paced whirlwind of an adventure. There is also said to be a seven elemental trials that could end in death, and I am SO here for it.

Overall, the May Unicorn Crate was one of the best ones I received as a rep. Pretty much every item was a hit with the exception of the Red Rising vinyl stickers. Anyway, my rep period ends at the end of this month (June). You can still use my rep code READEN10 up until the 30. The June box is currently sold out but you can purchase the July ‘Magic Systems’ crate now.

The theme for June is Potions and Poisons.

I hope you enjoyed reading this month’s unboxing!

Atlas Fallen Launch Box Unboxing

For those of you who don’t know already, I’m part of the street team for Jessica Pierce’s debut book Atlas Fallen. Jess’s street team is basically made up of a handful of bookstagrammers set out to promote her novel.

Jess is also the owner behind the bookish merch company, Paperly and Co. With that said, Jess was basically the master mind behind this box as most of the items are by Paperly.

The above package was a one time special edition launch box featuring tons of goodies inspired by Atlas Fallen. As a whole, Jess really blew it out of the ball park.

So, without further ado, let’s get into today’s unboxing!

The Goodies:

114e
My favorite item hands down would definitely be the above wax melt. Inspired by the opera scene in the featured book, the scent notes are lux perfume and gardenia. Now, I must say that this wax melt smells EXACTLY as described–and I love it. The first time I burned it, my boyfriend came home from work and walked in the bedroom and said “Wow it smells amazing in here. Did you get a new perfume?”. This comment literally made me laugh out loud because of how accurate his remark was. After giving him a whiff of the wax melt we both agreed this tart is every bit of what it says it is.

114d
These druzy earrings are definitely my next favorite item right after the wax tart. The color is just as stunning in person as pictured above, and the overall quality is amazing. I also love how they are stainless steel as well.

114iThe above art print displays our protagonist, Tesla looking as bad ass as ever. The attention to detail is also just incredible.

114fOf the two art prints, I think this one of Daxton and Tesla is my favorite. The colors are what really make it for me. On top of that, Tesla’s Dress seems to literally be sparkling.

114g
Ahh Cerise Rienne, the famous bubblegum pink villain of Atlas Fallen. I am literally OBSESSED with the above quote. The bookmark is quite stunning as well. It really seems to glitter even though there is none.

If there is one thing Paperly and Co shines at it’s creating quality magnetic bookmarks. The above Daxton and Tesla ones are certainly no exception. The character artwork is printed on a sturdy paper that has a bit of a sheen to it, which I love. In terms of size, these are about the length of the average person’s thumb. I would be lying if I didn’t admit that I collect Paperly and Co magnetic bookmarks.

114c
Again, these magnetic bookmarks are EVERYTHING. My Favorite one is definitely the depiction of Cerise Rienne a.k.a the only character that is completely pink. Next to that is the opera singer. I mean, can we just take a moment to appreciate her gorgeous dress?

As for the book:Atlas Fallen, by: Jessica Pierce

Goodreads Description:

Tesla Petrov, daughter of an infamous traitor, no longer lives a life of promise in the Atlas space station’s elite flight training program. But when a wrong move costs her a fight—and a fortune—for the crime lord, Tesla knows her days aboard the Atlas are numbered.

Daxton Larose isn’t just visiting the station to celebrate the Centennial of the Crown—he’s hunting a terrorist threatening to end a century of peace on Earth. To do so, he’ll need someone who knows the station. Someone willing to strike a deal at any cost.

Someone like Tesla.
